Cascina Cavalaria has been in the same family since 1862. It nestles among beech, chestnut and birch trees high up in the Biellese hills on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Graziano.

The 140-year-old stone farmhouse has been lovingly restored by the family and offers charming accommodation sleeping four people — ideal for couples, families, or small groups.

Mountain View Entrance

Cascina Cavalaria boasts many original features including stone walls, beamed ceillings, an open hearth, and traditional terracotta (at ground level) and wood (in the sleeping areas) floors. Nearly all the furniture pieces in the farmhouse are antique family heirlooms providing genuine examples of old Piedmont. Modern amenities in the kitchen and bathroom ensure every convenience during your stay.

The farmhouse is set in a large garden with views over the Biellese hills and its own woods offering mushroom and truffle hunting in the autumn. The village of Mongrando is just a few minutes down the hill and the bustling provincial capital with supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and all amenities is only a 15 minute drive.

Your welcome will be supervised by Gerry — a neighbor and close friend of the family — an Irishman so enthused by Piedmont he moved there! Gerry will be delighted to answer all your enquiries on arrival and fill you in on some local travel tips. The house is also stocked with a good selection of local guidebooks and brochures to help you plan your holiday. Bed linens and towels are provided. The house will be serviced on your departure.
